Question: What are the advantage and disadvantage of saline implants?

Answer: One advantage is saline implants are adjustable. The physician fills the implant and adjusts the volume accordingly during surgery. The second advantage is that the implant is filled with saline, the same harmless fluid given intravenously (in the IV) at the time of surgery.
The disadvantage is a saline implant does not feel or sometimes look as natural as a silicone gel implant, especially when used above the muscle.
