Question: Do you have to be put to sleep for liposuction?

Answer: If the patient is having multiple areas treated or larger amount of fat is to be removed then general anesthesia is usually necessary. If there is only a small amount of fat removal or few areas are to be treated then this can usually be done under local anesthesia.
